Personal Statement

I choose to live my life authentically, soulfully, and it is my intention to daily spill joy from my "joy bucket" so others may "step" in it. No mop required!

About Me

I am a writer for a local newspaper, a rather homespun, mountain-voiced column. I adore writing fiction in stolen moments, and am voracious reader. I am finishing my first undergrad degree (History)next Spring, and will use the degree as the skeleton around which to wrap fictional flesh. I am married,work full time, and have five children. All but two have flown the nest. I ama gypsy at heart.

My Purpose in Life

I know that my gifting revolves and spirals in the world of words. Pen as weapon.... Pen as medicine......

My Work in the World

I am a full time secretary-bookkeeper-boo-boo kisser for a local primary school, and quasi-grand-mama to 470 four through eight year olds.

Dear Sister2Moons, I am glad you are interested in the altered visual journal. This is working with recyclable books and mixed-media. Using what you have available, for example torn newspapers or old dictionaries, you will have the makings for an altered visual journal. It is another way of creating a soulful life. Write short vinettes of your life . It will become an altered visual memoir journal.
Thanks again for asking. Plus it is fun to get messy. I recently started altering some recycled clothing and making tattered totes.

Dear Sister2moons, Your screen name sounded native to me and I am part cherokee and wondered if you were too???
I can not get enough of Clarissa Estes and her CD collection and I truly believe the written word is powerful medicine.
