I had a chance to get up to my favorite place - a friend of mine called and asked if I would like to head up for an overnight stay at Pyramid Lake. We lucked out with accomodations, it is a retreat center and gets very crowded. but we were able go up, spend the night and head back the next day.
I sat on a huge rock by the side of the water and dangled my feet in the water, watched the fish leaping out of the water to catch bugs, had a rest in an Adirondack chair. I walked the very familiar and much loved pathways and felt my spirit come alive! What a wonderful trip, and an awesome gist from my friend (she even did the driving). Just what I needed.
"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter...to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring -- these are some of the rewards of the simple life." -- John Burroughs
Once again, angels among us...
