I'm glad you enjoyed my profile's quotes, Lindsay, and it was nice chatting with you.  I journal daily--I do so much writing (either personal or for future publishing) that I buy 10-20 spiral notebooks of paper every fall when they go on sale at Wal*Mart! I also like Mary Oliver's poems, tho' I've only read one of her books. Your work sounds needed and fascinating, and thanks for being that way in the world! I look forward to chatting with you in the future!  Have a wonderful day! Dragonoftherose

 Hello Lindy,

Thank you for your comment. It's nice to know I am missed. I confess I have been extremely caught up in recent times. My counselling has taken up a lot of my time, although it seems to be slowing down to almost a stop these days and I am not sure, but I suspect the credit crunch is one of the reasons. I have also been very busy sewing, painting and creating for my Ebay shop, which I have now set into motion. I love being creative. I have called my Ebay shop "Gillys Country". In truth this has been for me another way of bringing money (hopefully) into my home. It's been tight so far financially and I have to try all ways I know to make a living, even though I retire this year, or at least have reached retirement age. I have no intention of retiring though.
I hope you are keeping well and happy and thanks again for your comments, I appreciate them.

Hi there, Lindy!

Thanks so much for your welcome!

I would LOVE to engage in some Interfaith dialogue here, as that is my passion in my life.  I believe that if we can "soften" the hard boundaries that religion creates in our lives, we can begin to really love and accept those who have different beliefs, and perhaps move towards world peace.

I can't wait to learn more about you, and the many other interesting people here on this site.  And I agree- SLUMDOG is hands down the BEST picture of the year!

Lindy,

Thank you for sending me a comment.  I don't know where I am in the process of grieving because I am grieving for more than my friend.  I am hoping that I do not go too deep because than it will be difficult to climb out.

Since I just moved here June 2008 after living in Delaware for 32 years, my house is not a home in fact it is a shell filled with chaos.

Your kind words were very helpful.

As for the Chat Room.  If you are on at 9:00 am it is only 6:00 am here.

Love and Blessings,

RavenFeather

We seem to miss each other in the chat room. I think it is because there is a 3 hour time difference.

I am trying to be creative as I work through the passing of a dear friend.

I haven't blogged about it because it is much too personal for me right now.

Drop me a line.

Hi MsLindy,

Thank you for your welcome back to the Soulful living community. I went away for a holiday and unfortunately had a very bad cold when I went away which took a while to dissipate. The "in between" of my holiday was very nice, but then contracted Cystitis two days before I came home for which I got antibiotics at home. Some antibiotics (I have come to the conclusion) are like poison to the system. For about a week or so I have had side effects that are awful, headaches, nausea, fever, lethargy etc. I am still trying to get rid of the feeling of nausea and hopefully this will work out of my system eventually. I hope you are well.

Thank you so much for your encouragement , I really , really appreciate your comments - I was surprised when my Goddess appeared out of the canvas - I was slapping on the paint and working it around thinking, as I do, I really don't know what I am doing...('cos I don't) and as it dried part of the features began to emerge so I kept with it and was satisfied with the result. It is really hard to just let go and not be worried about the outcome but it is fascinating to see what is revealed. In my little class we worked together on getting away from the idea that only trained artists can make art  It was amazing for me to observe what these ladies created.  It was a real sharing experience. I see you too, are passionate about creativity - it is soul food to me also and if I can't create regulary I get very down...and eat far too much chocolate.

Dear Flowerlady, Have you started reading a spiritual memoir? I wasn't sure about your reading plans for August, maybe we can read the same book and chat about it after several chapters. Think about a small book discussion. It makes reading so much fun. My list of reading grows and grows.lol take care Kind Regards, Lindy

Hi Lindy ~ I looked for both books you told me about and was disappointed in not finding either one at our local library.  Next time I'm in, I'll have to look under spiritual memoirs to see if I can find any to read there.  The one about Leaving Church appealed to me, because that is exactly what my DH and I did many, many years ago.  We did not leave our beliefs, in fact they are stronger than every, we just left organized religion.  Maybe you have other titles that I could look up at our library.

I read a lot, on different subjects and some fiction also.  This past week I got books on essential oils, Chinese medicine, Aromatherapy and a couple of fiction.

Thank you for your note and I wish you a belated happy birthday.  Hope your day was filled with lots of good things, love, peace and happiness.

Hi Lindy:

Thanks for you comments. What is altered visual journaling? I love to write also. Have been doing it on a daily basis since I was twelve. It is a great way to get to know yourself.

Lindy,

I am not Cherokee, but I do live in Cherokee country.  I live in a 109 year old house on the banks of the Clinch River in Southwest Virginia.

"Sister Two Moons" is taken from a phenomena that I get to witness several times a year when the full moon is reflected in perfect mirror image on the pulsing river behind my house.  As above, so below.

That mirrored authenticity is what I desire for my own life, no pretense, no masks, the outer life a perfect reflection of the inner life.

It is nice to meet you.  You profile is helpful in introducing you to me.

Light-filled steps as you walk,
Sister2Moons

Hi MsLindy_J!

Thank you so much for writing me a message.  You are so right about Eckhart.  I am so thankful that my neice told me about the online classes with Oprah and him.  They helped me soooo much.  I just love Loreena McKennit.  Pandora.com is an online "radio" station.  And last.fm is another good choice.  Take care, Loni

07/17/2008 11:52:34

I really liked your photo--it was unusual and interesting, not the usual portrait. Since you're interested in creativity and journaling, and in moving away from fear, you might want to check out my website, www.thespiritualalchemist.com/About, and go to section III for a whole discussion about fear and emotional release and looking at emotions from a whole different point of view.

PS: I'm big on foreign films, too

cheers,

Natalie

Hey MS Lindi_J,

I just wanted to say that it's great to read your favourite quote! Move away from fear and towards love...
...busy learning that one myself.

Have a blessed and serene day!
